In the virtual reality lab, these future nurses worked on taking care of the physical needs of an ER patient while simultaneously managing a difficult interpersonal situation.
In the manikin lab, students had to triage ER patients and work efficiently to care for all patients.
Simulation exercises like these allow students to experience difficult, dangerous, or stressful scenarios in a safe space, making them more prepared for in-person clinicals and the workforce.
